Questo portfolio presenta le opere dell’anno 2019-2021, una selezione tra le più emblematiche della produzione in corso.

Il tema concettuale della serie è il legame, che attraverso l’annodamento di colori e forme esplora alcuni simboli ancestrali e segni comuni della tradizione classica occidentale.

Ogni opera è il risultato di una particolare indagine percettiva e geometrica volta a far dialogare gli elementi tra loro, legandoli appunto all’insieme. Si tratta di rappresentazioni ibride di un surrealismo con sfumature e variazioni astratte.

Questa indagine pittorica intende sfidare, attraverso la matericità del colore, un mondo sempre più digitalizzato e inaridito, che tende a slegarsi dalla realtà, dalla propria storia, dalle identità e dalle tradizioni.

Il legame parte dal nodo come la linea dal punto. Il nodo, la cui rappresentazione si trova in ogni dimora del decadente impero romano (sec.III-IV d.c), fu un simbolo di speranza in un’epoca in cui si era ben consapevoli del cambiamento imminente. Si avvertiva la necessità di legare se stessi al mondo e al proprio vissuto, alla propria storia, alle identità e alle tradizioni arcaiche.

Il contesto storico attuale, di alienazione tecnologica e distanziamenti sociali, dell’individualismo e dello slegamento delle proprie tradizioni e cultura, dove si è perso il legame con la natura, la terra e il bosco; è un contesto che ci vuole sterili e proiettati in ambienti altrettanto sterili, (rinchiusi in stanze a forma di scatola contenuti in palazzi-scatola più grandi, guidando scatole più piccole per lavorare in altre scatole).

Per questo, la scelta di lasciare lo spazio aperto, campiture che si estendono oltre i bordi di ogni tela, per proiettare lo spazio oltre i soggetti racchiusi al proprio interno, avanzando oltre lo spazio consentito e integrarsi all’ambiente circostante.

Si racchiudono così i simboli di diversi significati e tempi come epilogo di un’attenta riflessione sulla misticità dell’emozione evocata dal desiderio di scoprire le proprie radici.

Le tecniche grafiche e xilografica in particolare, giocano un ruolo incisivo di influenza del corpus pictoricum, per la caratteristica di sintetizzare le forme e tralasciare tutto ciò che è rumore.

Ed è per mezzo della pratica costante della pittura e del disegno, che questi mezzi esplorano una dimensione più intima e istintiva della raffigurazione.

Quanto più il mezzo controllato è aperto all’intuizione, tanto più diventa strumento potente di indagine creativa e visuale, indizio per direzioni future e nuove serie pittoriche.

È questo legame tra grafica e pittura, anch’esse legate e influenzabili l’una con l’altra, la caratteristica delle opere su tela dell’anno 2019-2021.

This portfolio presents the latest works of the year 2019-2021, a selection among the most emblematic of the current production.
 
The conceptual theme of the series is the bond, which through the knotting of colours and shapes explores some ancestral symbols and common signs of the classical western tradition.
 
Each work is the result of a particular perceptive and geometric investigation aimed at making the elements dialogue with each other, linking them to the whole. They are hybrid representations of a surrealism with shades and abstract variations.
 
This pictorial investigation aims to challenge, through the materiality of colour, an ever more digitalized and inarid world, which tends to untie itself from reality, from its own history, from identities and traditions.
 
The bond starts from the knot as the line from the point. The knot, whose representation can be found in every dwelling of the decadent Roman Empire (3rd-4th centuries A.D.), was a symbol of hope during a time when people were well aware of imminent change. There was a need to bond oneself to the world and to one’s own experience, to one’s own history, to archaic identities and traditions.
 
The current historical context, of technological alienation and social distancing, of individualism and the untying of one’s own traditions and culture, where one has lost the bond with nature, the land and the forest; it is a context that wants us to be sterile and projected into equally sterile environments, (locked in box-shaped rooms contained in larger box palaces, driving smaller boxes to work in other boxes).
 
For this reason, the choice to leave the space open, backgrounds that extend beyond the edges of each canvas, to project the space beyond the subjects enclosed within, advancing beyond the space allowed and integrating with the surrounding environment.
 
Thus the symbols of different meanings and times are enclosed as the epilogue of a careful reflection on the mysticism of emotion evoked by the desire to discover one’s own roots.
 
The graphic and xylographic techniques in particular, play an incisive role of influence of the corpus pictoricum, for the characteristic of synthesizing forms and omitting all that is noise.  
 
And it is through the constant practice of painting and drawing that these means explore a more intimate and instinctive dimension of representation.  
 
The more the controlled medium is open to intuition, the more it becomes a powerful tool for creative and visual investigation, a clue to future directions and new pictorial series.
 
It is this bond between graphics and painting, which are also linked and influenceable with each other, that is characteristic of the works on canvas of the year 2019-2021.
